Workforce Training in Higher Education: A Catalyst for Development" |
The Community College Model Goes Global |
The community college model has never been more in demand. It is recognized by the highest levels of governments as a key resource in providing open access to workforce development. Community college enrollments continue to break records as increasing numbers of adult students seek training and retraining. |
The workforce training component of the community college model is recognized for its ability to identify the needed skills in the local workforce and deliver training in an effective and cost efficient manner. Many countries, while modifying to meet local conditions, are adopting the community college model and implementing it successfully. |
The conference main plenary will be a panel, comprising experts from among: India, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Georgia, Dominican Republic, Albania, Jordan and elsewhere. The panel will discuss the development of community colleges in their country and the role US community colleges have played and can continue to play in their development.
This conference will capture and analyze what is occurring globally. Dr. Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic will be invited to facilitate the panel. |
